Imphal: As many as 175 more persons, including three personnel from Central Armed Police Forces, were infected with the COVID-19 virus in Manipur on Tuesday, taking the number of confirmed registered cases in the state to 30,742.

Two air passengers were among the new positive cases reported in the state. Now, the active cases stand at 1,032.

The new positive cases include 104 males and 68 females. They are from Imphal West (84), Imphal East (29), Bishnupur (26), Kakching (9), Senapati (8), Churachandpur (7), Kangpokpi (3), Thoubal (3), Ukhrul (3), Chandel (2) and Tengnoupal (1) districts, respectively.

Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, two persons from Imphal West, aged 64 and 42 and one from Imphal East, aged 75, succumbed to the virus. Now, the total number of deaths due to COVID-19 in the state is 393.

A total of 50 infected persons were discharged. The recovery rate for coronavirus has dipped from 95.74% to 95.36% in the last 24 hours.
