Imphal: Manipur reported 140 new cases, including eight personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), have tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday.

The total confirmed coronavirus cases in the state have surged to 30,421, of which 805 are active cases.

According to the latest health bulletin, the new positive cases include 61 from Imphal West, 45 from Imphal East, nine from Bishnupur, eight from Churachandpur, six from Ukhrul, four from Thoubal, three from Senapati, and one each from Chandel, Kangpokpi, Kakching and Tengnoupal districts, respectively.

Another two more COVID-19 patients from Imphal West district, aged 51 and 59, were reportedly succumbed to the virus from Raj Medicity and RIMS Hospitals in Imphal. Now, the cumulative deaths related to the virus are 385.

Meanwhile, the recovery rate from the virus has dipped from 96.40% to 96.08 % in the last 24 hours.

Also, all 60 incoming air passengers tested for COVID-19 at the Imphal Airport on Sunday were found negative for the virus. 

The state informed that air passengers who travelled on April 20 by Indigo flight 6E-6358 in rows 18-24, on April 22 by Indigo flight 6E-6181 in rows 2-10, Air India flight AI-889 seated in rows 12-18 must inform the Common COVID Control Room 1800-345-3818 or respective District Surveillance Officer (DSO) immediately.
