The electrician died while on duty in Kamjong district of Manipur on Friday

Imphal: A 46-year-old electrician from Shakok village died of electrocution while on duty at Phungyar sub-division in Manipur’s Kamjong district. The incident happened around 10 in the morning, as per sources.

According to one of the health workers at PHC Phungyar, the deceased — identified as Chipemmi Jajo — was brought to the centre after the incident but he had already lost his breath by the time he reached the local health center.

We tried our best to revive him but it was too late, the healthcare worker said.

According to sources, the lineman looks after the electricity in the Phungyar area. However, the exact cause of the incident is yet to be known by the time of filing this report.

He is survived by his wife and five children, said sources.
