Manipur CM calls on BJP leaders, including Amit Shah, in Delhi

Imphal: Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh, who is currently in Delhi with Congress MLA RK Imo Singh, on Wednesday called on Union minister Amit Shah and discussed the political development in the state, among other issues.

Likewise, Singh had also held talks with BJP chief JP Nadda and its national general secretary BL Santosh in separate meetings, as per reports.

However, officials who are with Singh in the national capital refused to disclosed the actual outcome of the meetings.

It is too early to comment at the moment and CM is planning to meet other central leaders as well, one of the officials told EastMojo on Thursday.

The chief minister will officially release a statement in regards to his visit to Delhi after returning home which is likely in a day or two, he added.

Similarly, party workers in the state chose to remained tight-lipped on this matter.

As per sources, Singh is also likely to meet other leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and seek funds, especially for functioning better healthcare services as the state is witnessing a rapid rise of COVID-19 cases.

According to CM Biren Singh, the Union home minister and other central BJP leaders had thanked the MLAs and people of Manipur for electing the party’s candidate Sanajaoba Leishemba, the titular king of Manipur, as member of Rajya Sabha in the recently concluded RS elections for the lone seat.

Just before days he left for Delhi, Singh had informed media persons that assigning portfolios to the four National People’s Party (NPP) MLAs, who had revoked their decision and reaffirmed their support to BJP-led coalition government in the state, will be decided after talking with BJP Central leaders during his planned visit to Delhi.
