RGT aims to cater to the diverse and untapped talents of the youth from Ukhrul district and create a platform to build their career
Imphal: An Ukhrul-based talent show “Ringui’s Got Talent (RGT), season 6” was officially launched by Miss Spring 2019, Chanchui Khayi, on Tuesday at Classic Grande Hotel in Imphal.
The talent show which aims to cater to the diverse and untapped talents of the youth from Ukhrul district will create a platform to build their career.
Speaking to media person, RGT convenor, AC Raising, informed that besides grooming the young talents, the event plays an important role in peace-making.
Through talents, the event also aims to bring peace, harmony and cordial neighbourhood among the villages in the district affected by the dispute of land and boundaries, he said.
“I think the platform is a great way for any individual to know that people are out there making their dreams valid and giving them this opportunity to showcase their talents is also one way of believing themselves so that they can reach higher goals in life,” added Miss Spring 2019.
Organised by Dewdrops, this talent hunt show, as claimed by organisers, is one of the oldest talents’ shows in the state.
The event will feature varied untapped talents ranging from singers, dancers, comedians among others from the hill district.
The first audition will be held on February 20 at Classic Grande in Imphal, February 23 in Ukhrul district headquarters and the final audition will be at Dewdrops office at Ringui village on February 28.
Participants selected during the auditions will be featured on the opening ceremony on March 12, which also coincides with Ringui Luira Phanit, a seed sowing festival.
The grand finale is slated to be held on March 14 at Ringui village.
The winner will take home prize money of Rs 70,000, and Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 for 1st and 2nd runners-up respectively.
The top five finalists will also be awarded consolation prizes, informed the organisers.
The talent contest is open to all the people of the hill district age between 10 to 60 years.
