Manipur: Militant belonging to banned KYKL arrested in Kakching

KYKL is a conglomeration of splinter groups of various Imphal valley-based outfits; the arrested rebel has been identified as Thouchom Joy alias Rockey of Nagaon in Assam

Imphal: A joint team of Assam Rifles and Manipur Police arrested a militant belonging to the banned Kangleipak Yawal Kanna Lub or Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) outfit in Kakching district recently.

According to reports, KYKL is a conglomeration of splinter groups of various Imphal valley-based outfits.

Based on specific information in regards to the presence of a KYKL member, a joint operation was launched by the security forces. He was arrested from Kakching’s Wangoo Tera area on December 2, said reports.

The arrested militant has been identified as Thouchom Joy alias Rockey of Lamka Manipuri Basti of Nagaon district in Assam.

The arrested militant has been handed over to Wangoo Police Station for further investigation.
