Imphal: As part of their continued search operations being carried out by the armed forces, two rebels of Kangleipak Communist Party (Noyon) and an active worker of the Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF) or People’s Liberation Army (PLA) were arrested from two separate places in Manipur on Tuesday, as per an official report.
The two KCP members were arrested by the Thoubal district police commandos during frisking and checking at Kiyam Siphai Thong Ahanbi. Several incriminating documents were recovered from their possession.
The two arrested persons have been identified as Thingujam Ingocha Singh, 50, of Thoubal Kiyam Mayai Leikai and Ningthoujam Ingocha Singh, 50, of Thoubal Kiyam Siphai Tangjeng, respectively.
A case has been registered against them at the Thoubal police station for further investigation.
Similarly, acting on specific information, a team of Bishnupur district police conducted checking at Kwakta Bazaar, leading to the arrest of an active worker of RPF/PLA, identified as Md Siraj Ali alias Boicha of Kwakta Maronglou.
An IED remote control was also recovered during the search operation. Later, a case was registered at Moirang police station. Investigation is on.
In yet another incident, in a joint operation between team Thoubal police and the Anti-Social Element Prevention Youth Committee on Monday, a drug peddler, identified as Md Anwar Khan alias Achouba of Lilong Chingkham Makha, was arrested from his residence.
During the search, 836 capsules suspected to be Spasmo Proxyvon (SP), a blue-coloured pouch containing 182 tablets suspected to be World is Yours (WY) and two cough syrup bottles marked as ‘Codylate’ were recovered from his possession.
According to a report, a case has been registered against him at Lilong police station, and investigation is on.
