111.2 kg of the contraband recovered from illegal drugs manufacturing factory at Lilong dam in Thoubal district; 3 persons, including woman, arrested in this connection
Imphal: In what has been regarded as the biggest drug bust in the history of Manipur, around 111.2 kg of brown sugar, worth over Rs 100 crore in the international market, were seized from an illegal drugs manufacturing factory at Lilong Dam in Thoubal district.
Three persons, including a woman, were arrested in this regard. The drug bust was made in a joint operation of the Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB) and Manipur police.
While addressing media persons on Saturday, SP (NAB) W Basu Singh credited local voluntary organisation 'Ajuman' for its active support in the bust.
Among the items recovered from the factory were tools, containers, chemicals, iron plates, pots, plastic containers, buckets, bins, rubber gloves, LPG cylinders and clothes, besides the contraband, among other items.
According to Singh, it was the biggest drug seizure in the history of Manipur.
