Media reports intended to tarnish his image, says N Biren Singh’ s personal secretary Rajen Singh in a statement
Imphal: A day after media reports accused Manipur CM N Biren Singh of jumping the queue at a polling booth in Imphal while casting his vote for the Inner Parliamentary seat on April 18, he has denied all the allegations levelled against him.
In a statement issued by on Friday, the CM’s personal secretary Rajen Singh said that the media reports were not true and were aimed at tarnishing his image.
The statement further suggested that Singh reached the polling station at Srivan High School, located at Luwangsangbam Mamang Leikei, in Imphal around 9 am. “There was a small crowd comprising media persons, security personnel and five women relatives of the chief minister at the entrance of the polling station. There was no queue visible at the entrance,” it clarifies.
Meanwhile, it also added that the journalist who filed the story was not physically present at the polling station at a time when the chief minister exercised his franchise on April 18.
