Have you been scrolling through your Instagram or Twitter profiles of late? If yes, then we are sure that you might have come across people kicking a bottle cap out without disturbing the bottle.
It’s been a while that a new challenge has flooded the Internet after the ice bucket, kiki, mannequin, and Harlem shake challenges and even India was not far behind to follow the trend.
The New York Times stated that the Bottlecapchallenge first started to make its rounds among the MMA fighters and might have been birthed by Kazakh Taekwondo champion Farabi Davletchin. It later went viral when mixed martial-artist Max Holloway tried it out and challenged music artist John Mayer for the same.
So how does it actually work? A cap is loosely twisted shut on top of any bottle and the goal is to untwist the cap with a spin kick without disturbing the bottle itself. All you need is a friend willing to take that video of yours in slow motion for the extra ‘oomph’ and perhaps some safety goggles for him as well.
Here is how Holloway slew the Bottlecapchallenge and even challenged John Mayer for the challenge. “Passing this on to our guy @JohnMayer …. hey John if you can’t complete this challenge @erlsn and I decided you have to come to Hawaii after your tour and kick it with us until you complete it!”
Be curious my friends! #challengeaccepted #bottlecapchallenge Passing this on to our guy @JohnMayer …. hey John if you can’t complete this challenge @erlsn and I decided you have to come to Hawaii after your tour and kick it with us until you complete it! 🦶🍾😅 🙏⚡🤙 👊 pic.twitter.com/gLWn0dpOzV

Surprisingly, music artist John Mayer delivered an impeccable spin kick letting the cap fly off the bottle and then challenged action star Jason Statham
Hollywood actor Jason Statham obviously did it which inspired our very own action star Akshay Kumar
Akshay wrote: “Inspired by my action idol @JasonStatham, I will repost/retweet the Best I see, come on Guys and Girls get your Bottle out and your Legs in the Air, Let’s Do This”
Arjun Sarja, the star from down south, also gave it a go
And so did Gully Boy’s MC sher Siddhant Chaturvedi
British singer Ellie Goulding too did it with a message as well “STOP USING PLASTIC BOTTLES SUCKERS”
However, not all were up to the #bottlecapchallange as one can see below
Some gave their own unique spin to it as well
