Lukanand Kshetrimayum from Manipur, Jonathan Thangeo from Mizoram and Sonam Paul Tenzing Bhutia from Sikkim were adjudged winners of the coveted Mega Mister North East title this year. Kshetrimayum will represent India in Mister International as well.

Similarly, Langpoklakpam Melody from Manipur, Tanvi Raksam Marak from Meghalaya and Rajeswari Chakraborty from Sikkim were jointly crowned winners of the 17th Sunsilk Mega Miss North East 2019.

A series of sub-awards were also announced during the pageant that included the likes of Radisson Blue Mister and Miss Hospitality, Shoutout Northeast Mister Congeniality, Sin Denim Mister Game Changer, Garnier Men Look of the Year, Vodafone SuperNet 4G Mister and Miss Popular, Eyetex Dazzler Miss Beautiful Face, Sony Alpha Miss Photogenic and Sunsilk Hair Hack Diva.

The three winners will be offered professional representation by Mega Entertainment and a specialised grooming session, which would guide them further on how to carry themselves forward in the professional sphere. Besides, the winners also get the opportunity to walk the ramp in various regional and national shows.

During the 10th edition of Mega Mister North East, entrepreneur Abhijit Sinha set a new and unique initiative to propel male models from the Northeast to the international stage where the winner with the most points will represent India in Mister International 2019.

Another key feature of the event produced by Mega Entertainment was the abolition of the concept of first and second runners up. The entire three finalists for both the events were awarded the same title of the winner. During an interaction with VibesMojo on August 12, Sinha said: “Do we differentiate between our eldest and youngest children? We don’t. We at Mega Entertainment treat all the finalists equally like we would treat each one of our own wards.”

The spectators witnessed the amalgamation of 100 contestants from all the eight states of the Northeast. Participants who traveled to Guwahati were judged on their level of confidence and determination in the week-long mentor grooming sessions itself. In addition to that, there were three rounds on the date of the event where the participants’ fate was sealed by Mega Miss North East 2016 Meriya Subba, Mega Mister North East 2017 Babul Koch, fashion and lifestyle promoter Monika Devi, hotelier and entrepreneur Bobby Singh, and fashion photographer Rahul Biswas.
