The auditions for the 17th edition of Sunsilk Mega Miss North East and 10th edition of Garnier Men Mega Mister North East were organised at T-Series Stageworks in Guwahati, Assam on Sunday.
The auditions were organised by Mega Entertainment, a Northeast-based fashion and pageant event organiser. The hunt concluded in Guwahati after it made the rounds of Itanagar, Tezpur, Kokrajhar, Agartala, Shillong and Imphal.
The auditions selected a total of 50 men and women from the region comprising eight states, who will eventually walk the ramp at the finale. The auditions received a huge response from the aspiring youths of the region. As per the online registration portal of the pageant, a total of 370 applicants were received from Guwahati itself.
The panel of judges for the pageant includes fashion entrepreneur Abhijit Singha along with Bobby Singh and Monika Devi. The Sunsilk Mega Miss North East and Garnier Mega Mister North East were conceptualised by Singha himself and is produced by Mega Entertainment.
“The pageant has given wings to a lot of talents from this region, they have developed to another level. It is a very functional pageant, but at the same time very emotional. We connect very well with the youth of this region. We are really looking forward for the three winners of the most coveted event this year. This year, we are determined to give equal weightage to all the three finalists; there will be no winner or runners up,” Singha says.
The icing on the cake, however is that this year the winner of Garnier Mega Mister North East will get a direct entry into Mister International competition, thus representing the country.
Along with the title sponsors, the grand finales of the two events are supported by the hospitality partner Radisson Blu, telecom partner Vodafone Supernet 4G, photo partner Sony Alpha, styling partner Sin Denim and cosmetic partner Eyetex Dazzller.
The grand finale of Garnier Mega Mister North East will be held on August 8 and that of Sunsilk Mega Miss North East on August 9.
