Fans flood the internet with ‘Friends: The Reunion’ memes

The much-awaited return of the sitcom “FRIENDS” aired its reunion episode ‘Friends: The Reunion‘ and netizens couldn’t control their excitement while experiencing what fans term a “historic reunion” as the six actors reunite on screen to take over the internet after 17 years.

Bollywood celebrities seemed excited to the much anticipated reunion too. Student of the Year star Alia Bhatt posted an Instagram story captioned ‘EVERYTHING’, hinting that she is a fan too.

The Ministry of Housing and Urban affairs didn’t miss the opportunity to chime in with a ‘Friends’ inspired message to spread awareness on the spread of COVID-19 in the country. 

A fan of Bollywood actor Madhuri Dixit made their own version with the FRIENDS cast replaced by the Bollywood diva and Madhuri Dixit shared even shared the fan-made video with the caption “This is amazing #FriendsReunion“.

Some even recalled the not-so-known Indian version of FRIENDS made by Ekta Kapoor, which was originally aired on Zee TV, and thanked Zee5 for bringing the original FRIENDS instead of the Hindi one.    

FRIENDS, the sitcom which kicked off in September 1994, is easily one of the most popular English sitcoms in the world. The story of six friends – Ross, Monica, Chandler, Rachel, Joey and Phoebe – who lived together in apartments that faced each other in New York, has never really gone out of circulation. Today, the six have come back for a reboot, and it’s an overload of nostalgia.
