Actor Taapsee Pannu’s boyfriend, Mathias Boe, a former badminton player tweeted in support of the actor after the income tax department raided Pannu’s house earlier this week. He wrote about the “unnecessary stress on her family, especially her parents” and asked Union sports minister Kiren Rijiju for help.
However, he received a matter-of-fact response from the minister who said that the matter is beyond his domain, and asked him to stick to his professional duties.
Boe, who is currently India’s badminton coach tweeted, “Finding myself in a bit of turmoil. Representing India for the first time as a coach for some great athletes, meanwhile I-T department is raiding Taapsee’s houses back home, putting unnecessary stress on her family, especially her parents. @KirenRijiju please do something.”
To which, Rijiju responded, “Law of the land is supreme and we must abide by that. The subject matter is beyond yours and my domain. We must stick to our professional duties in the best interest of Indian Sports.”
The house of Taapsee Pannu, along with that of Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane and other shareholders of Phantom Films, was raided by the IT Department.
