Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Chennai Super Kings was due to take place on May 7th, but it has been suspended indefinitely due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. It’s a big hit for the league and for Indian sport in general, but we clearly have more important things to worry about right now! Hopefully, the league will recommence before long, and we’ll see the world’s biggest stars face off once more.

Sunrisers Hyderabad is a team that has kept on higher grounds for its consistent performance but they have done little this year to live up to fan’s expectations and their own standard. The season saw them start with poor form. They recorded three losses before they went on to win.
However, soon they were seen losing ways again. They are all set to play against Chennai Super Kings on. We all know IPL is full of turns and twists. Manish Pandey is in excellent touch, so expect some fireworks from him. However, David Warner won’t be playing as Kane Williamson has been given the responsibility to lead the side. Jonny Bairstow, the England cricketer is in great form as he has scored 211 runs in the IPL 2021 so far. Kane Williamson, the New Zealand captain has just returned to the team. This has strengthened the SRH batting site. Nevertheless, their middle-order batting is still a drawback.
SRH bowlers are grappling to pick up the wicket but Rashid Khan, the Afghanistan leg-spinner has maintained his discipline.
The only game that they have won is by 9 wickets against Punjab Kings. However, a worrisome pattern has come in each of their chases so far. This has significantly reduced the team’s whole batting unit to just the 3 names mentioned above.
Hyderabad’s story for 2021 is best summed up by the short-run by Warner in the super over face-off. They were running short on the pitch and thus they lost the match. This has denied them everything. The team yet has 9 games left and the qualification is as much a possibility as it had been when the tournament began. SRH needs to find a way to run that bit.
Chennai Super Kings
Even though CSK began their IPL 2021 journey with a defeat against Delhi, they have been triumphant in 4 successive matches. So, now, they are one of the strong teams in the IPL tournament.
Faf du Plessis, the South African cricketer has taken prime responsibility in CSK batting as the young Ruturaj Gaikwad has started performing. Moreover, Suresh Raina has scored well in a few matches. But MS Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu are looking to get back in form.
Moeen Ali, the England cricketer has performed impressively as an all-rounder. Ravindra Jadeja has showcased great skills.
Imran Tahir and Lungi Ngidi, the CSK bowlers have impressed in the single matches of the season. Two games were dominated by Deepak Chahar alone as he claimed 4 wickets in each of those matches. Hence, it is clear that bowlers have played important roles in this team’s progress.
Pitch and Conditions
It is the first game in Delhi and the condition is not going to be much different than Chennai. In 73 domestic T20Is, the average score has been 164. Spinners might find ample assistance.

There is no way for Hyderabad to play David Warner. Rashid Khan and Williamson are default picks. This means that the overseas slot might not change. Thus, they might play the same 11 as the previous match. However, it looks like Virat Singh will sit out for the match.
Chennai Super Kings
It is unlikely for CSK to bring changes to the winning combination. Taking into account the spin-conducive conditions of Delhi, Imran Tahir is likely to hold his place.
CSK will go with Moeen Ali and this will make them leave Dwayne Bravo from playing 11.
