Agartala: After reviewing the COVID-19 situation across the state, the Tripura government has imposed total lockdown on weekends and extended partial curfew restrictions on weekdays till July 24 next.
The weekend curfew will remain in force from 5 am on Saturday to 6 am on Monday. On weekdays, day and night curfew will be in force from 2 pm on July 19 to 5 am on July 24.
The same restrictions have been imposed on the movement of the public. However, some curfew relaxations have been given this weekend.
According to a notification issued by the revenue department on Friday, the COVID-19 situation was reviewed and it has been decided that a complete lockdown will be enforced across Tripura from 5 am on July 17 to 6 am on July 19.
During the weekend curfew, except for emergency services, everything will be closed. Only those engaged with emergency services will be allowed to travel.
Besides, restrictions have been imposed in Agartala Municipal Corporation area, Ranirbazar Municipal Council, Jirania Nagar Panchayat, Kailashahar Municipal Council, Dharmanagar Municipal Council, Khowai Municipal Council, Belonia Municipal Council, Kumarghat Municipal Council, Teliamura Nagar Panchayat, Amarpur Nagar Panchayat, Panisagar Nagar Panchayat and Kamalpur Nagar Panchayat areas from 5 am on July 19 to July 23.
According to the new guidelines, medicine, fruit, vegetable, dairy, fish, meat, egg, animal feed and ration shops will be open during the entire curfew in Tripura on weekends. However, the stores will allow a shopper to stand at one point and maintain a distance across at least 36 square feet of space.
