Imphal: In the last 24 hours, the number of recovered persons surpassed fresh positive cases in Manipur, with 783 people discharged and 598 testing positive for COVID-19.
This is the second time that the number of recovered cases surpassed fresh cases during the second wave of the pandemic.
With this, the total number of confirmed positive cases and recovered is 55,828 and 45,948, respectively. The active cases reached 8,984 and the recovery rate stood at 82.30%.
The new 598 fresh cases, all civilians, are reported from Imphal West (202), Imphal East (117), Churachandpur (83), Thoubal (72), Bishnupur (54), Kakching (26), Jiribam (14), Tengnoupal (7), Chandel (6), Kamjong (5), Tamenglong (5), Senapati (4), Kangpokpi (1), Noney (1) and Ukhrul (1) districts.
Also, out of the 783 persons discharged, 555 people are from home isolation, 11 from RIMS, 19 from JNIMS and the rest 198 are from other COVID-19 care facilities.
Meanwhile, 15 more persons succumbed due to COVID-19 complications. They are the residents of Imphal East (6), Imphal West (5), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (1) and Churachandpur (1). With this, the total number of deaths due to COVID-19 is 896.
