Manipur records 3 more COVID-19 deaths in 24 hrs
Imphal: Three more persons, including one security personnel, succumbed due to COVID-19 on Friday in Manipur. The total fatalities related to coronavirus in the state has climbed to 86.
As per the latest health bulletin, three male patients aged 40 and 76 and 52 years and belonging to Kakching and Imphal West districts and the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) succumbed to the virus. They were undergoing treatment at JNIMS, Shija and RIMS hospitals respectively.
In the last 24 hours, 123 persons (70 male, 53 female) from the general population and eight personnel from CAPF tested COVID-19 positive. They were tested at 18 COVID-19 testing centres and reported from 12 districts of the state.
Of the 123 cases from the general population, nine are returnees, and the rest are locals without significant travel history, said additional health director Dr K Sasheekumar Mangang.
All the new patients were shifted to COVID-19 care centres.
Meanwhile, 147 persons were discharged.
The total confirmed positive cases in the state stand at 12,810, while 9,866 have recovered, 2858 are active. The recovery rate is 77.01 per cent, as on October 9.
