Imphal: At least 100 persons infected with COVID-19 were discharged in Manipur, taking the total recovery rate in the state to 69.43% on Friday.
With this, the total number of people recovering from the virus has gone up to 4,057, of which 3,286 are from the general population and 771 belong to the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF).
Meanwhile, another 118 cases, including 79 from the general population with no travel history, were found to be positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours in the state. With this, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state has gone up to 5,843.
Of the latest cases, 37 are personnel from the security forces and two returnees belonging to Kakching and Churachandpur districts, said additional health director Dr K Sasheekumar Mangang.
The locally transmitted cases were reported from Imphal West (37), Imphal East (24), Bishnupur (1), Thoubal (12), Senapati (2), Churachandpur (1) and Tengnoupal (2) districts.
All of them have been shifted to COVID-19 care centres and necessary measures like contact tracing and containment process are put in place.
Earlier, Manipur reported two more COVID-19 patients succumbing to the coronavirus, pushing the total number of deaths in the state to 27.
