Of the 7 new COVID-19 cases, 4 reported from Aizawl -- including 2 locally-transmitted -- while 3 are from Lunglei
Aizawl: Mizoram on Thursday reported seven more Covid-19 cases, taking the state’s tally to 974, an official said.
The official said that four cases were confirmed through RT-PCR machine at Zoram Medical College (ZMC) and three at Lunglei civil hospital with the help of TrueNAT machine.
Of the seven cases, four were reported from Aizawl district while three were from Lunglei district, he said.
Two of the four cases from Aizawl district were locally transmitted and the remaining patients have travel history, he said.
The new seven patients, including two female, are out of danger as they are asymptomatic, he said.
There are 501 active cases in the state while a total of 473 people have already recovered from the virus. Two patients have migrated to Assam.
Meanwhile, an official statement on Wednesday said that the government will bear all the medical expenses of frontline workers, local volunteers and members of task forces in case they contacted the virus.
