Imphal: In the last 24 hours, a total of 3,690 samples were tested for COVID-19 in Manipur, in which 116 persons, including 42 security personnel have been found positive for the contagion virus.
On Monday, only three returnees from the general population were detected as COVID-19 positive and the remaining 71 of them do not have travel history to other states, said additional health director Dr K Sasheekumar Mangang in its latest report.
The three returnees belong to Imphal West (2) and Kakching (1) districts, wherein the locally transmitted cases were reported from Imphal (29), Imphal East (25), Thoubal (7), Churachandpur (5), Ukhrul (3) and Bishnupur (2).
The total confirmed cases till date is 5,362, in which 3,713 are recovered and 1,627 remained as active cases. Till date, as many as 1,35,399 samples were tested for the coronavirus.
Moreover, another 97 infected persons have recovered on Monday, taking the total recovery rate to 69.24 per cent.
As per the state COVID-19 Common Control Room report, a total of 508 people, including 453 flight passengers, were arrived from various metro cities in the state.
