All primary contacts of COVID-19 patient from SBI's Thoubal branch directed to report to district surveillance officer for contact tracing
Imphal: The State Bank of India's (SBI) Thoubal branch in Manipur has been closed for 48 hours after one staff from the office tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday.
In an order issued by Thoubal deputy commissioner N Bandana Devi on Wednesday, all primary contacts of the COVID-19 patient from the branch office have been directed to report to the district surveillance officer for necessary contact tracing.
Moreover, the manager of the bank has been instructed to disinfect the entire building before resuming office work, as per protocol.
In a separate notice issued by the bank's branch manager, customers who visited the branch between August 17 and 18 have been requested to contact the numbers 8794012082, 9485435606 and 8413962541.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, at least 111 persons, including 56 security personnel, tested positive for COVID-19 in the state, taking the total number of coronavirus cases to 4,876.
Till date, the pandemic has claimed 18 lives in the state, with most of the victims having had co-morbid health conditions.
The first death relating to COVID-19 was reported in the state on July 29.
With the rapid rise of COVID-19 cases in the state, health officials have introduced home isolation system for those who test positive for the virus and have asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic cases. Those patients who are willing for home isolation can choose the facility after consultation with their respective district chief medical officers (CMO), reports said.
