Imphal: Former world champion boxer from Manipur, Laishram Sarita Devi, and her husband, Ch Thoiba Singh, have reportedly tested positive for COVID-19.

The samples of a three-time world champion and five-time Asian Games champion Sarita Devi and her husband were taken on Sunday and tested at the community health centre at Wangoi in Imphal. Their samples returned positive on Monday.

As per the reports, the 38-year-old boxer and her husband are asymptomatic and were shifted to UNACCO COVID-19 Care Center in Imphal West for further observation.

Laishram Sarita Devi and her husband have appealed to all those individuals who have come in contact with them recently to isolate themselves and get tested for COVID-19 immediately to avoid further escalation, it said.
