16 from Kohima and 1 each from Wokha and Tuensang test positive for COVID-19; active cases now stand at 2,128
Kohima: Eighteen more persons from Nagaland tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday taking the total number of cases in the state to 3,340.
The new cases were reported out of 348 samples that were tested. Out of the new COVID-19 cases, 16 persons are from Kohima and one each from Wokha and Tuensang.
With the addition of the new cases, the number of active cases is 2,128. Although no new cases were detected in Dimapur on Thursday, it continues to lead the tally among the districts with a total of 1,680 confirmed cases, of which 1,258 are active.
Kohima has recorded a total of 871 positive cases of which 648 are active. Out of a total of 48 cases, Tuensang has three active cases. With the addition of a new case in Wokha, the tally spiked to 17 of which nine are active cases.
Nagaland health minister S Pangnyu phom took to Twitter to inform about the new cases. "Update! 18 new +ve cases of COVID-19 have been detected out of 348 samples tested.
16 in Kohima & 1 each in Wokha & Tuensang. Necessary contact tracing have activated. Wear Mask, Keep Distance, Stay Safe," Phom tweeted.
On Friday, 59 patients recovered from COVID-19 increasing the number of recovered cases to 1,198. The recovered cases were reported from Dimapur with 38, Kohima with 14, Mokokchung with three, Wokha with two, and one each from Peren and Phek.
