Of the 71 new COVID-19 cases reported from locals, only 13 belonging to Churachandpur, Bishnupur and Kakching are returnees from other states
Imphal: At least 86 more persons, including 15 security forces personnel, were shifted to COVID-19 care centres on Friday after they were found positive for the novel coronavirus in Manipur.
Their samples were tested positive at VRDLs of RIMS (31), JNIMS (12), STD/IRL (2), Raj Medicity (1), Babina Diagnostics (10), Bishnupur (2), Churachandpur (11), Thoubal (1) and Imphal West (16), said additional health director Dr K Sasheekumar Mangang.
Of the 71 fresh cases reported from the general population, only 13 of them belonging to Churachandpur (9), Bishnupur (3) and Kakching (1) are returnees from other states and the rest 59 are locals with no travel history.
The latest local transmitted cases have been detected from the districts of Imphal West (28), Thoubal (8), Imphal East (13), Noney (3), Ukhrul (3) and Bishnupur (3).
The total number of positive cases is 4,198, of which 3,248 are from the general population and 950 are security personnel.
The cumulative number of discharged cases is 2,360 (general population-2,168 and central security personnel 192) and active cases is 1,825 (general population 1,067 and central security personnel 758).
With 65 more infected persons recovered in the last 24 ours, the recovery rate in Manipur is 56.21%, it said.
