Of the 48 new cases, 32 are from Dimapur, 16 from Kohima; active cases now stand at 961 in state
Kohima: Another 48 cases of COVID-19 were reported in Nagaland on Thursday, taking the state's total for confirmed cases to 1,561. The new cases were declared as positive for COVID-19 out of 516 sample results that were received.
Out of the new active cases, 32 are from Dimapur and 16 from Kohima. With the addition of the new cases, Dimapur district continues to lead the district-wise tally with a total of 608 positive cases out of which 167 are recovered and 436 are active, and five are dead.
Kohima district with a total of 443 cases is the second highest for positive cases out of which, 127 are recovered and 316 are active .
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Nagaland health minister S Pangnyu Phom tweeted: "Update! Tested 516 samples for COVID-19, out of which 48 cases came out positive. 32 cases in Dimapur & 16 in Kohima. All contact tracing are fully activated for all safety."

Four out of the five reported deaths have been confirmed as due to COVID-19. One deceased tested positive for COVID-19 but is not a COVID-19 death. All deaths are reported from Dimapur.
