Kohima: With 33 more persons from Nagaland testing positive for COVID-19, the state’s tally of confirmed cases crossed the 1,000-mark on Monday in around two months time since the detection of the first COVID-19 case in state.
The 33 new cases were declared as positive out of 454 samples that were sent for testing. Out of the 33 positive cases, 16 are from Dimapur, 12 from Mon and five from Kohima.
With the addition of the new cases, the COVID-19 status in the state is:
Taking to Twitter, Nagaland health minister S Pangnyu Phom tweeted: “Update! Out of 454 samples tested, 33 positive cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed. 16 in Dimapur, 12 in Mon & 5 in Kohima.”
In a subsequent tweet, Phom informed that he was tested as negative for COVID-19. The health minister informed that he will be discharged from the Facility Quarantine Centre on Monday.
“However, all necessary precautionary measures will be strictly adhered as per the SoPs issued by the Govt,” the minister assured.
Phom along with the deputy chief minister and PHED minister announced their decisions to undergo facility quarantine on their arrival from Delhi on June 16.
