Naik Rajesh Narzary, 9th APBn, was battling against COVID-19 since July 4. He passed away at GMCH on Monday
Guwahati: Assam police recorded its second COVID-19 related death on Monday as Naik Rajesh Nazrzary, who was fighting the virus since July 4, passed away at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). He was admitted in the ICU.
Sharing the news, Assam Police tweeted, "We are saddened to inform that NK Rajesh Narzary, 9th APBn, who was battling #Covid19, made the supreme sacrifice today.
Our deepest condolences are with the family and colleagues of NK Rajesh Narzary.
We stand in solidarity with all the brave #CoronaWarriors of Assam Police."
Assam DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta said, "All necessary help and assistance will be extended to the family of our brave Corona Warrior."
ADGP GP Singh has also expressed solitude to the deceased's family
Earlier, on July 10, Hav Hareswar Nath of 16 IRBn, who tested positive for COVID-19 on July 7, passed away.
As per the update on Sunday evening, till date, 869 Assam Police personnel have been infected with the highly contagious virus, and 484 have recovered.
