Complete lockdown in Capital Complex extended till 5 am on August 3 due to a rise in COVID-19 cases in the region
Itanagar: The complete lockdown in the Capital Complex of Arunachal Pradesh has been extended for another two weeks. This decision was taken by the state cabinet in a meeting chaired by chief minister Pema Khandu on Friday due to the rise in COVID-19 cases in the region.
Earlier, the lockdown, which was imposed till Monday evening, has now been extended till 5 am on August 3, informed chief secretary, Naresh Kumar while addressing a virtual press conference on Sunday.
No movement of people and vehicles will be allowed during the period except those of essential services, Kumar said.
The state government has already constituted 20 medical teams that would visit various localities of the capital region for rapid antigen tests, he said.
"In the next two weeks, we will try to contain the spread of the virus in the capital region. We will undertake extensive antigen tests so that a large section of people could be covered," Kumar said.
