Out of 447 active cases, 443 are asymptomatic and 4 are mild symptomatic; 327 recovered cases so far
Kohima: As three more persons — all from Tuensang district — tested positive for COVID-19, the state's tally has now hit 774. A total of 26 persons tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday.
Principal Secretary Home Abhijit Sinha informed that all the positive patients are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals and COVID-19 Care Centres. Active surveillance and contact tracing are in progress to prevent further spreading of the infection, he informed.
Earlier in the morning, 23 persons tested positive for COVID-19 taking the state's tally to 771. However, with the addition of the three new cases, the overall COVID-19 confirmed cases spiked to 774.
Meanwhile, a total of 14 persons also recovered from COVID-19 on Sunday. Eight persons from Phek, five from Peren and one from Kohima have recovered, informed health minister S Pangnyu Phom.
Out of the 774 positive cases that are reported in the state so far, 447 are active cases and 327 are recovered cases. As per the severity of symptoms, 443 active cases are asymptomatic and four active cases are mild symptomatic.
A total of 16,343 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 15,424 samples have been received. Out of the total of 16,343 samples, 11,338 samples have been sent for testing at the BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) and at the BSL-2 lab at the CIHSR, Dimapur, and 600 samples have tested positive.
In addition, a total of 9,876 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat. 9,258 samples have tested negative, and 300 samples have tested positive which have been sent for confirmation by RT-PCR. A total of 3,354 persons are presently under Facility Quarantine.
