Tripura: Cases spike to 1,534 as 93 more test COVID-19 positive
Agartala: Tripura on Friday reported one of the highest single-day spikes in Coronavirus cases with 93 persons testing positive.
Of the 1325 samples tested today 93 persons tested positive for COVID-19 taking the tally at 1,534 and 324 active cases so far.
Taking to Twitter, chief minister Biplab Kunar Deb wrote, "Alert~ 93 people found COVID-19 #POSITIVE today out of 1325 samples tested.
The count includes: Dhalai Dist : 24, West Dist: 17, Gomati Dist: 15, North Dist: 13, Sepahijala Dist: 11, Khowai Dist : 9, Unokoti Dist: 2, South Dist: 2 #TripuraCOVID19Count".
Tripura has received Rs 14 crore in two installments of Rs 7 crore each from the centre to fight the novel coronavirus under Emergency Covid Response Plan (ECRP) said education minister Ratan Lal Nath.
From North East Council Rs 3 crore was received, Rs 1.20 crore from MLA and MPs fund. Since the centre has announced this as a national disaster therefore the SDRF fund is being spent.
Presently there are 301 persons in facility quarantine and 5,067 persons in-home quarantine as on Friday, while 1,199 persons have been discharged after they recovered from the virus.
A total of 70,004 samples have been collected of which 68,542 have been tested. The test per million rate now stands at 17,146 samples per million, while the recovery rate stands at 80 per cent with 0.07 is the mortality rate. The state has 25 containment zones in the state.
