Kohima: As 15 more persons recovered from COVID-19 on Thursday, the recovery rate in the state slightly increased to 36.82%, a slight increase of 0.82%. However, with 34 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, the total number of confirmed cases spiked to 535.

The total number of active cases now stands at 338 and the number of recovered cases at 197. Health minister S Pangnyu Phom informed that out of 15 patients who have recovered on Thursday, 12 from Kohima, two from Dimapur and one from Peren.

As per Principal Secretary Home Abhijit Sinha, the positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals and as per the severity of symptoms, all 338 active cases are asymptomatic.

A total of 12,570 samples have been tested and the results of 11,854 samples have been received. Out of the total of 12,570 samples, 8, 251 samples have been received at the BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) and the BSL-2 lab at CIHSR, Dimapur, and a total of 8,133 samples have been tested, out of which 423 samples have tested positive.

In addition, a total of 6, 240 samples have been tested by Truenat, out of which 124 samples tested positive and sent for confirmation by RT-PCR. He also informed that a total of 4,551 persons are presently under Facility Quarantine.
