Agartala: The number of COVID-19 positive cases in Tripura has increased to 1,386 with 34 fresh cases.
A total of 996 samples were tested of which 34 people tested positive. These include 23 from Gomati district, five from West district, two each from Khowai and Unakoti and one each from South and Sepahijala district.
Taking to twitter, chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb wrote, “Out of 996 samples tested for COVID-19, 34 people found #POSITIVE in Tripura today.

Earlier on Monday evening, law minister Ratan Lal Nath said, at present, 259 persons are undergoing treatment in different COVID care centres in the state, while 1,085 persons have been discharged after they recovered from the virus.
A total of 49,693 persons were placed under surveillance, out of which 43,930 persons were released after completion of 14 days’ observation period. Altogether 498 persons are in facility quarantine while 5,265 persons in-home quarantine as on Tuesday.
A total of 64,642 samples have been collected of which 63,331 samples have been tested. The recovery rate now stands at 80.25 percent, while 15,842 samples are being tested per million.
