New Delhi: After receiving plasma therapy treatment, Delhi health minister Satyendar Jain’s health has reportedly improved. Though he remains in the ICU, his temperature has come down.

On Friday, the 55-year-old Aam Aadmi Party leader — who tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week— was admitted to Saket’s Max Hospital after his condition deteriorated. Prior to that, he was admitted to Rajiv Gandhi Super Special Hospital. He was tested twice within this week after he developed symptoms of COVID-19 which included difficulty in breathing and high fever. On Wednesday, he was tested positive for the second time.

Doctors have apparently said that he can be moved to the general ward by Monday. But he will be kept in observation for the following 24 hours. On the off chance that he doesn't develop any respiratory issues or fever once again, he might be moved out of the intensive care unit, reports The Quint.

He was put on oxygen support after lung infection increased and his office later announced that he was also diagnosed with pneumonia. Even on Saturday, Jain was still on oxygen support. However, since then, his health parameters have started to improve.

AP MLA Somnath Bharti earlier tweeted that his colleague’s health was stable. He wrote, “Just spoke to the hospital and was relieved to know that Delhi Health Minister n my close colleague . @SatyendarJain ji is stable now n plasma has been arranged for him. Wish him quick recovery. 2day we did a community prayer at 7.30 pm with everyone praying 4m their residences.”

Additionally, Delhi government adviser Abhinandita Mathur, AAP MLA Atishi Marlena, and AAP media panelist Akshay Marathe have also tested positive for the novel coronavirus and are henceforth in quarantine.
