Tripura reports 43 fresh COVID-19 cases, 39 are from BSF

A total of 1,250 samples got tested on Wednesday; among them, 43 persons tested positive for COVID-19; four of them have travel history

Agartala: Tripura on Wednesday once again saw a spike in COVID-19 cases with 43 more persons testing positive. With the new cases, the total number COVID-19 positive cases stands at 1,138, 572 are active.

A total of 1,250 samples got tested on Wednesday; among them, 43 persons tested positive for COVID-19; four of them have travel history.

After registering over 163 cases from the BSF battalions, on Wednesday another 39 officials from the BSF battalion have tested positive for the virus.

Taking to twitter, chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb wrote, “43 people found POSITIVE out of 1250 samples tested.

Among them:

4 from 120 Bn BSF

26 from 74 Bn BSF

Law minister Ratan Lal Nat said that a total of 123 positive coronavirus persons were discharged after they tested negative on Tuesday.

“Presently, 529 persons are undergoing treatment in different COVID care centres in state, 556 persons have been discharged after they recovered from the virus”, Nath said.

A total of 43,970 persons were placed under surveillance, out of which 36,961 persons were released after completion of 14 days’ observation period. There are 537 persons in facility quarantine while 6,472 persons in-home quarantine as on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, 1,395 samples were collected from across the state and over 1,000 samples including samples of those who returned from other parts. A total of 51,729 samples have been collected, of which 50,230 samples have been tested.

The recovery rate of the positive case now stands at 50.78 per cent, while 12,565 samples are being tested per million.
