With the biggest one-day spike of 50 COVID-19 cases, Sikkim now has 60 active coronavirus cases
Gangtok: With another 36 persons testing positive for COVID-19 in Sikkim, the state saw the biggest one-day spike of 50 cases, brining the state's tally to 60 active COVID-19 cases.
State Health Department Director-General Dr Pempa Tshering Bhutia in a special health bulletin on Friday night, said, "The VRDL lab in STNM Hospital had conducted testing for 412 samples on Thursday, of which 14 were confirmed as positive last night. Among them 60 were doubtful cases needing a re-test. The same was carried out today and we confirm 36 new cases taking the tally to 60 active positive cases in Sikkim".
The Himalayan state has so far recorded 64 cases of which 60 are active and 4 have been discharged.
