Out of these 33 new cases, 17 from Tinsukia, 4 from Jorhat, 3 from Barpeta, 2 each from Chirang, Karbi Anglong and Nagaon, 1 each from Baksa, Golaghat and Majuli. Till 1.20 pm., June 9, 2020 total of COVID-19 positive cases in Assam is 33.

Actor Sonu Sood arranges special flight for Assam residents

Around 180 residents of Barak Valley in Assam, who were stranded in Mumbai due to COVID-19 lockdown, landed at Silchar Airport on Tuesday afternoon after Bollywood actor Sonu Sood arranged a special flight for their return journey.

Sources close to Sonu Sood quoted the actor as saying, “Many migrants who have got stuck here in Mumbai called me asking for help. I think it’s my responsibility to take care of them and it’s good that they are going back home tomorrow.” READ MORE

Nagaland: 5 more test positive as COVID-19 cases spike to 127

Five more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday morning out of which one is from Kohima and four from Dimapur, taking the total number of COVID-19 cases in the state to 127.

Sikkim: 6 more test COVID-19 positive; state tally reaches 9

Six more persons, who were in quarantine, have been tested positive as the state tally touched 9 on Tuesday.

Out of these six persons, four are from Kyongsa, Geyzing in West Sikkim, one each from CCCT Chisopani in South Sikkim and Himalayan Pharmacy Institute in Majhitar, East Sikkim. All of whom were in Facility Quarantine, informed Dr. Pempa Tshering Bhutia, Director General Health. READ MORE
