Churachandpur woman who returned from Pune & Kangpokpi and Imphal East residents who came back from Mumbai & Delhi, respectively, test COVID-19 positive
Imphal: Three more persons, including a 28-year-old woman from Churachandpur district, tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, taking the total number of cases to 124.
According to additional health director Dr K Sasheekumar Mangang, the other two patients, aged 30 and 22 years, are from Kangpokpi and Imphal East districts and they belong to the group of returnees from Mumbai and Delhi by train, respectively, adding that the woman patient returned from Pune.
With this, the number of active cases in the state now stands at 86, with 38 patients already declared free from the virus, the official said.
Samples of the latest three cases were tested at Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratories (VRDL) at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS).
Although all of them are in stable condition, they have been shifted to the COVID-19 care facility at JNIMS for observation, Mangang said.
Earlier in the day, 13 persons, including a nurse with no travel history, were tested positive for COVID-19 at JNIMS.
Necessary control measures like contact tracing and containment process are underway to avoid any health crisis in the state, Mangang added.
