We have ramped up testing facilities but it is going to be rough one, I want to make advance apology, says Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma ahead of Day 1 of resumption of flight services
Guwahati: As domestic air travel resumes from Monday, Assam is prepping to manage a huge passenger load expected on Day 1. State health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that around 30 odd flights are expected to land in Guwahati on the first day.
This means that around 2,000 people could be landing in the city, making the state health department work on war footing, said the minister during a press conference in Guwahati. The detailed list of all inbound passengers will be received only 4-5 hours prior to flight departs.
The minister cautioned that there are likely to be some hiccups in the first 24 hours to settle things, and advised returnees to gradually come over a period of 3-4 days.
"We have ramped up testing facilities but it is going to be a rough one. I want to make an advance apology," said Sarma.
