Another 8 cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Assam; while 1 of them is at quarantine in MMCH, another is a patient of SMCH; rest 6 in Cachar with travel history; total 230 in state so far
Guwahati: With eight new persons getting infected, Assam has reported 20 cases of COVID-19 so far in a single day on Friday. With this, the total number of COVID-19 positive cases has gone up to 230 in the state.
Of the eight new cases, while one patient is at MMCH under quarantine in Guwahati, another is a patient of Silchar Medical College & Hospital in Cachar district.
The remaining six persons are from Cachar with travel history, all under quarantine.
Announcing the new cases on Twitter, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said: "Alert ~ Eight cases of #COVID19 confirmed, as per details below
* 1 patient who is at MMCH under quarantine
* 1 patient of SMCH
* 6 persons in Cachar with travel history; all in quarantine.
Total count 230; active cases are at 169.

Assam has reported 230 COVID-19 cases so far. Of this, while 54 patients have been discharged, four died and three migrated to other states. Currently, there are 169 active cases.
