Guwahati: Assam's Dhubri district is now free from its Orange zone categorisation, effectively immediately, informed an order by the office of the Deputy Commissioner of the district on Friday.
The region was put under Orange Zone due to several cases related to Tablighi Jamaat congregation being reported from the area.
With the withdrawal of the tag, "The normal life is resumed and movement of people and transacting business by opening their establishments till 4 pm every day is now permissible," said the order.
Stand-alone shops, grocery shops and pharmacies including veterinary clinics will be kept open every day, while shopping complexes, cinema halls, shopping malls, salons, beauty parlours, restaurants, gyms, hotel, lodges etc will remain shut.
The other category of shops will open on a rotation basis from 7 am to 4 pm. Mobile shops, hardware/paint shops, sanitary shops, cycle shops, electric & electronic shops etc can open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Saree and cloth shops, printing press and flex printers, optical shops, stationery shops, tailoring etc will remain open on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
All establishments are to provide provisions for handwashing, ensure that all workers wear masks, and social distancing is maintained between staff and customers.
