Itanagar: After a post-graduate student of Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) tested positive for COVID-19, and death of a COVID-19 patient at Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute in Guwahati in neighbouring Assam, the Arunachal Pradesh government has requested all those who visited the two institutions in the last 14 days to report themselves as a precautionary measure.

The individuals who visited either of the two institutions from April 23 onwards need to call on 0360- 2292774, 2292775 and 2292777, or call at the toll-free numbers 104/1075 to register themselves. Also, they and their family members need to strictly remain under home quarantine.

The state department of information and publicity (DIPR) on Sunday tweeted, "In view of a PG student of GMCH being tested #COVID19 positive on May 7, & death of a Covid patient from Dr. B. Barooah Cancer Institute on the same day, it is urged to all those who visited the institute in the last 14 days to report by calling 104/1075 or 0360-2292774/75/77."

The two cases in Assam were detected on May 7, following which Meghalaya too issued a similar public appeal requesting the people to remain at home quarantine and register themselves.
