New Delhi: During a pre-flight virus test, five Air India pilots tested positive for COVID-19. All the infected pilots are from Mumbai, and they are asymptomatic.
The test was a part of routine checkup where 72 hours prior to flight duties, the airlines' crew undergo a swab test.
The pilots had operated a cargo flight from Guangzhou, China recently. The last time any of them operated a flight was on April 20.
Air India has been running sorties and delivering essentials and working on repatriation of stranded Indians from across the world. Currently, it is operating a week-long mission of bringing back around 1500 stranded Indians from 12 countries.
