Kohima: As the world battles the novel coronavirus or COVID-19, Harmonic Voices — winner of the first-ever Nagaland Choir Olympics — released a virtual choir piece titled Somewhere over the rainbow to pay tribute to the COVID-19 frontline workers and those affected, expressing their support and care.
Just a day ahead of Lockdown 3.0 on Sunday, Harmonic Voices from Kohima released the virtual choir piece on Youtube. “We believe in spreading our care and support through music as you pursue to battle against the pandemic. Let us dare to dream a hopeful future because dreams really do come true,” a message from the choir said.
The audio and video for the virtual choir were recorded on mobile phones and were produced by Nourhe Khate.
In October last year, the choral team won the ultimate championship award at the first-ever Nagaland Choir Olympics which was organised by the Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA) and were awarded with a trophy and cash prize of Rs 1 lakh along with citations.
As reported earlier, various Naga artistes led by prominent musician Nise Meruno had launched the first-ever ‘Nagaland Virtual Choir’ spreading messages of hope to people around the world, during this time of a global pandemic.
