Order issued by the deputy commissioner on Sunday will be applicable for the entire district
Dimapur: Certain non-essential shops in the commercial hub of Nagaland will now be open after a month under lockdown. The deputy commissioner of Dimapur issued the order on Sunday.
The order states, “All shops including neighbourhood and stand-alone shops, shops in residential complexes within the limits of the municipalities and town councils EXCEPT shops in market complex and multi-brand and single-brand malls with 50% strength of workers with wearing mask and social distancing being mandatory.” (The shops shall remain open only from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
The containment zone in Marwari Patty, Murgi Patty and GS Road will continue to remain sealed. The containment t zone was carved out by the district administration following a positive case of COVID-19 in the second week of April from the said locality.
All the shops in New Market, Hong Kong Market, M.P Road, Railway Bazaarand vegetable market in Purana Bazar will remain closed. All weekly bazaars will also remain suspended. All public transport, including autorickshaws, cabs services also remain suspended.
The order further stated: “Any person violating this order will be liable to be proceeded against as per the provisions of Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act 2005 besides legal action under Section 188 of the IPC.”
