Guwahati: With new cases seemingly on the rise in every corner of the nation, COVID-19 is leaving everyone in a state of worry and concern. However, in stressful times like these, a good dose of laughter and fun works wonders.

In a video that has recently surfaced on social media, police personnel from Nagaon district in Assam is seen swaying their hips to Bihu music of dhol and pepa. It was 9:31 pm, but the police personnel were still working extra hours. With their frayed nerves, they deserved a much-needed break.

A person behind the camera gave the signal, “Alright guys, take a two-minute break,” and right on cue, the Bihu song echoed in the room. The personnel, men and women alike, swiftly rose from their chairs for the dance. With masks still on and each of them perfectly distanced from each other, the personnel danced a ‘happy’ (something quite rare these days) Bihu amid social distancing.

As abruptly as it started, the song stopped right at the two-minute end. With their spirits rejuvenated by the energising Bihu beats, the personnel went back to work.

Police personnel have been on the frontline of the battle against COVID-19 since the beginning of lockdown. Not caring for their own life, they are out there making sure that the preventive measures are being maintained. They have also been going out of their way to help the people around them, be it in the form of food relief or medicine deliveries.

Rightfully hashtagged #ChotiChotiKhushiya (small happiness), initiatives such as these help the police personnel to find their haven amid the chaos, thereby also inspiring many others on the way.
