Guwahati: The deputy commissioner of Kamrup (Metropolitan) district in Assam has allowed the door-to-door sale of local fish for residents of the city effective from Friday, said an official release.
The Rupnagar outlet of FISHFED will be available for all nearby residents. They will have to maintain all protocols of containment of COVID-19 including the principle of social distancing.
Wholesalers will bring fish to three points: Uzanbazar, Pandu and Bhetapara through vehicles permitted by the fishery department and FISHFED, Assam, from which the door-to-door delivery persons will collect their quantity.
The process of handing over fish by the wholesalers to the door-to-door delivery persons must be completed by 7 am daily.
The order further specified that only door-to-door delivery will be allowed, no market or roadside points are permitted for sale. Further, only fresh and hygienic fish will be allowed for sale.
