Speaker Pasang D Sona, who represents Shi-Yomi, had rushed to Mechuka on Sunday to oversee COVID-19 situation amid reports of food scarcity in Monigong and Pidi
Mechuka: Arunachal Pradesh legislative assembly Speaker Pasang D Sona on Monday reviewed the preparedness against coronavirus pandemic in Shi-Yomi with the deputy commissioner, superintendent of police, district medical officer and other stakeholders of the district in Mechuka.
Sona, who also represents the district, had rushed to Mechuka on Sunday morning to oversee the COVID-19 situation amid reports of food scarcity in Monigong and Pidi circle in the wake of 21-day nationwide lockdown.
The Speaker during the meeting said that there should be no delay or negligence in solving issues and meeting the requirements of the people. “Funds are not a problem as of now and I can be directly approached for any help,” he said while assuring the district administration of all possible help.
Following the meeting, Sona said that the district administration, police and health department is doing their best to cope up with all the problems and issues in the district with the available resources.
He, however, expressed concern over some instances in a few places of the district where the public were reportedly not supportive with the administration. “The public needs to cooperate with the administration, police and health workers. Whatever steps they are taking is only for the safety of the people,” said Sona while appealing all to follow the government advisories so as to stay away from the pandemic.
Awareness, social distancing and maintaining personal hygiene are the only ways to prevent COVID-19, he said.
