Tinsukia: Moi samajor xatru hoi, moi ghorat nathaku (I am an enemy of society, I won't stay at home) -- a placard read amid a countrywide lockdown that started on Tuesday midnight .

All thanks to Biswanath police in Assam, who took out this unique initiative to embarrass the lockdown violators, and teach them a lesson.

Biswanath police tweeted on Wednesday at 11.36 am: “Do you want to click a Photograph like this ? We @BiswanathPol have one Placard for anyone who comes out without any reason @assampolice @DGPAssamPolice #Behaveyourself #LockDown”.

The step comes amid reports of police manhandling lockdown violators by beating them in several states including Assam. According to some media reports, in some cases, the police have gone to the extent of beating essential service providers despite showing ID cards to enforce lockdown.

The fight against COVID-19 novel coronavirus has brought the entire country to a standstill to contain the spread of the deadly virus. In India, 11 deaths related to coronavirus has been recorded with positive cases crossing 500.
