Guwahati: Applications are invited from the Indian Air Force (IAF) from unmarried male Indian/ Nepalese citizens from all districts of the states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Manipur to join as Airmen.
The recruitment test for Group ‘Y’ (non-technical) Indian Air Force (Security) Trade will be held at Near Lake Gate, Air Force Station Borjhar on the outskirts of Guwahati as per the selection programme given below:
Post Name: Airmen in Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical)
Candidates born between January 17, 2000 and December 30, 2003 (both days inclusive) are eligible to appear in the recruitment rally.
Educational qualification: Candidate should have passed Intermediate/ 10+2/ Class XII or Equivalent Examination in any stream/ subjects approved by Central/ State Education Boards with minimum 50% marks in aggregate as well as in English in Class XII or equivalent examination.
Passed two years vocational course from Education Boards listed as COBSE member with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in the vocational course or in Intermediate/ Matriculation if English is not a subject in Vocational Course.
To be eligible to appear in the Indian Air Force Recruitment Rally 2020 for the north-eastern states, the candidates shall be required to satisfy the following conditions:
The school/ college/ institute from where candidates have passed the qualifying examination should be within the geographical/ administrative limits of all districts of states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Manipur.
If the name of district is not mentioned with the name of the institution in the certificate/mark sheet of qualifying examination, the candidates shall produce ‘Domicile Certificates’ issued by SDM/DM/executive magistrate or any official authorised by state governments of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya. Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Manipur.
Permanent domicile of all districts of states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Manipur who have passed the qualifying exmination from anywhere in India shall produce the Domicile certificateprior to commencement of the examination.
Sons of serving Air Force personnel (Officer/ Airmen/ NCs(E) and Unit cadre Civilians paid from Defence Estimates) whose father/ mother is presently serving in any Air Force Unit/ any other organization located in the districts of state of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura & Manipur irrespective of their domicile status, shall be permitted to appear in the rally subject to production of latest SOAFP (Son of Air Force Personnel) Certificate (format available at CASB site on AFNET).
Sons of Air Force personnel (Officers/ Airmen/ NCs(E) and Unit Cadre Civilians paid from Defence Estimates} whose father/ mother is retired/ discharged/ deceased and they are residing in the districts (as specified in Paragraph 2 above) of State of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland Tripura and Manipur shall be permitted to appear in the rally subject to production of proof of minimum stay of one year along with original and photocopy of Service Book/ Discharge Book/ Casualty Service Certificate/ Service Particular Certificate (issued from DPO-3/DAV, as applicable) in case of Officers/ Airmen/ NCs(E) and a Certificate duly signed by OIC Civil Admin and countersigned by CO/C Adm O of the last served unit, in case of Civilians.

The Recruitment Test will be conducted from 6 am onwards as per the details.
Candidates from states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland Tripura & Manipur fulfilling the domicile requirements and eligibility conditions reporting up to 10 am on February 16, 2020 and February 19, 2020 at Near Lake Gate, Air Force Station Borjhar, Guwahati, Assam (rally venue) will only be permitted to appear in the Recruitment Test.
For all districts of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura
February 16, 2020: Physical fitness test and Written test
February 17, 2020: Adaptability test-1, Adaptability test-2 and Dynamic factor test (DFT)
The physical fitness test will be concluded at Air force station Borjhar, Guwahati, Assam and the rest of the testing will be concluded at 11 Airmen Selection Centre, VIP Chowk, Guwahati, Assam.
Sequence of the Examination
The recruitment relly will consist of physical fitness test and written test followed by medical examination.
1. Physical Fitness test
1.6 km run within 5 minutes 40 seconds
Chin-up – minimun 8
Push up (Plank type) – minimum 20
Bent knees sit ups – minimum 20
2. Written test
All candidates who qualify PFT will have to undertake a Written Test on the same or subsequent day depending on the local conditions. The Written Test will be objective type and question paper will be bilingual (English & Hindi) except for English paper. The duration of the written test will be 45 minutes and will comprise of English as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning & General Awareness. The results of the written test will be declared on the same day.
3. Medical Examination
Candidates who qualify the above-mentioned test shall be medically examined in the month of July 2020 at 11 Wing, Air Force Station Tejpur Medical Examination shall be conducted by Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards and existing policy in vogue.
